Finance Specialist

The Opportunity

Equatorise is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Finance Specialist to join our consulting firm operating across Indonesia and the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing finance operations, managing tax compliance, conducting internal audits, ensuring robust internal controls are in place, and managing budgets effectively. This role is pivotal in maintaining the financial health and regulatory compliance of our cross-border operations.

 

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance operations, tax management, and audit processes, along with a keen ability to navigate cross-border financial regulations. They should possess excellent analytical and organizational skills, demonstrate leadership in financial planning, and have the capacity to work collaboratively in a culturally diverse environment.

What you’ll be up to in this role

Finance Operation Management

  • Conduct and oversee day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, receivable, and payroll
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Monitor cash flow and ensure efficient allocation of resources across operations in Indonesia and the UK.

Budget Management

  • Collaborate with project managers to develop and track budgets for consulting projects.
  • Develop and oversee the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
  • Provide insights and forecasts to support decision-making and financial planning also suggesting corrective actions to be made.

Tax Management

  • Ensure compliance with Indonesian and UK tax regulations, including VAT, corporate taxes, and employee taxation.
  • Prepare and file tax returns accurately and on time for both jurisdictions.

Internal Audit and Controls

  • Develop and execute an internal audit plan to review financial systems, processes, and controls.
  • Identify and address risks, discrepancies, or inefficiencies in financial operations.
  • Prepare audit reports with actionable recommendations for management.
  • Train and guide fellow employees on compliance with financial policies and controls.
  • Continuously assess and improve internal processes to prevent fraud and error.

Cross-Border Finance Coordination

  • Coordinate financial operations between the Indonesian and UK offices to ensure consistency and alignment.
  • Stay updated on changes in financial regulations in Indonesia and the UK, providing guidance to the leadership team.

  • Min. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications are preferred.
  • Proven 3 years of experience in finance operations, tax management, internal auditing, and budget management.
  • Strong understanding of Indonesian and UK financial regulations and tax laws.
