Foreign Policy and Global Trade Specialist

The Opportunity

As a Foreign Policy and Global Trade Specialist at Equatorise, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between international policies and business strategies. This position involves deep engagement with global trade dynamics, policy analysis, and client advisory. You will leverage your expertise to provide strategic insights that enable clients to make informed decisions about market opportunities and challenges.

By supporting policies and strategies that foster equitable trade, economic development, and sustainable practices, you will contribute to initiatives that create positive change and empower communities worldwide. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong grasp of geopolitical developments, international trade agreements, and economic policies, who thrives in a fast-paced, globally connected environment, and is passionate about making a difference for the greater good.

What you’ll be up to in this role

  • Analyze and interpret foreign policy trends, trade agreements, and regulatory developments affecting global markets.
  • Advise clients on strategies to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities in international trade.
  • Conduct comprehensive research on geopolitical issues, economic policies, and trade barriers.
  • Develop and deliver detailed reports, presentations, and policy briefs tailored to client needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide holistic solutions for market entry and expansion.
  • Monitor and provide updates on key global trade organizations (e.g., WTO, regional trade blocs).
  • Represent the company at key industry events, forums, and meetings to strengthen its network and influence

  • Minimum a bachelor’s degree in International Relations, International Business or Political Science.
  • Proven experience with 2+ years in foreign policy analysis, international trade, or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of global trade agreements, regulatory framework, changing of the world order, geopolitics impact to global trade & investments.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in preparing high-quality reports and presentations.

Bonus points if you

  • Have familiarity with key markets or regions, such as ASEAN and EU
  • Have experience dealing with foreign missions / embassies in Jakarta as well as Indonesian embassies abroad
